Introduction - Why Siulek join TMBT?

This is Pauline Cheung (Siulek) from Hong Kong. I am an experienced but lazy runner, enjoy utilizing my foot to experience the world. I had completed over 50 marathons and ultra-marathons up to now. My footprints were on Korea, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Italy, Greek, Hungary, Belize, Britain, USA and China.

I started hiking for keeping fit at about 20 years ago. Soon I was encouraging my hiking club mates to run. Running is harsh but fun and effective in losing weight.

Starting from hiking to running, I love the nature and trails. However, unlike my boyfriend Kenneth, I am not yet addicted to ultra-running and enjoy leisure trail run on scenic trails rather than mono-trail training.

I am only a adhoc trail runner who joined 100K only with special motivation.
Completed 5 times Trailwalker in HK, I especially like the idea of charity walk and teamwork. Running in a team of 4 makes the whole thing more tricky and fun!

My previous Trailwalker Hong Kong teammates are all pretty and lovely -

By the way, I also met Kenneth in Trailwalker 2010, when I was being a support team for his club.

Thus, it’s a bit difficult for us to find a race run together as he seldom joins races below 100K.

Learnt from my good runmate Melissa that there is a 100K ultra-marathon in Sabah, therefore, I started to search for the information from the internet. Soon I got idea about The Most Beautiful Thing-TMBT was attracted by the blogs and photos from runners who joined in the previous TMBT. In addition, the scenery at Mt. Kota Kinabalu is so beautiful and wonderful! Without detailed determination, Kenneth and me decided to join the race and bought our air ticket to Kota Kinabalu – It will be our first time to visit this city.

Now Siulek’s problem begins… She haven’t had race with distance over 42km for a long time and she seldom joined trail race recently. So, let’s follow this blog and see whether she can make a magic to complete this 100K ultra-marathon!
