My target was just to have an over 2-hour endurance run and with part of beginners' trail running.
Starting with the devil uphill route at Nam Cheong Street, which was my usually practice path when I was studying at City University of Hong Kong. It is a long slope for around 2km that is good for uphill trainings.
Soon after the first few hundred metres I ran into Nam Cheong Street, the long devil uphill road in Shek Kip Mei, the rain began.
Perhaps the God wants to put some punishment on me. Quickly I ran into the shelter outside Shek Kip Mei Sports Complex. If I had run over a hour, lazy Siulek would rather go back home directly, but this time, NO! I do want to have some work out today!
I simply jogged around the path outside sport complex with shleter. Unluckily the rain stopped after 10 minutes and I continued my run and passed by Shek Kip Mei Reservoir Park
Then I continuously ran up to Lung Cheung Road. This part looked more comfortable with no car. And the roadside trees looked much more green after the rain!
Tough Hong Kong is a city with High population density, we had many roadside trees and we had a high proportion of land is country park.
On the other side, I can look up to Beacon Hill. This 458m hill is my target this afternoon. It is a famous hill for hiking as well as rock climbing. At the top of Beacon Hill, there is Radar of Hong Kong Observatory to gather information for weather forecast. The two buildings looks like two white balls and that's why runners always called the route of Beacon Hill as BIG WHITE BALL.
Running up slowly, Siulek finally reached the old friend, BIG WHITE BALL. Mission Completed!
It's cool that I didn't miss my chance of training although the rain was pouring for a while. :)
