Rest and Recovery Runs (3-6 Jun 2013)

Quoted from most experienced coaches, “Rest is part of the training. After a 42km race, traveling and flights, I was a bit exhausted. Siulek's top secret for speedy recovery is a good sleep and body massage. I've had one on Monday night.

Hence, for Tuesday night, it's time for me to meet my BC runners group at Joint Sports Centre and have a recover run. It was so nice I met Tang sir, an experienced Pole Vault ex-athlete and coach. He told him that he's broken a record at a veteran athletic championship at Taiwan. I felt delighted on his news as athletes over 50 could also get amazing result in the athletic field.
After the run, the most important thing is to have a good dinner and get enough nutrient to back up our trainings. Well... due to the presence of a food expert Patrick in the group, we had a bit over... ;p

As I had a night shift on Wednesday, I took a run to the grassland nearby my home. I ran freely on the grass while looking at the Lion Rock. I should go to the top once I get back to the hill trainings.
Many Hong Kong people have special love towards Lion Rocks, as most of us live under the Lion Rocks and she witnessed the flighting story of hard-working Hong Kong people. Here is her giant look:
It was nice to run in the daytime, in spite of the fact that it started to rain after half an hour. The grass was still green and it was not as crowdy as that on public holidays!

For Thursday night, in order to attend my colleague's farewell dinner of retirement, I got out of my office immediately at the end of the working day. Then I run along the Shing Mun River's jogging track. It was a bit hot and humid, just the same as I was in Singapore. I started with a slower speed and then return with a faster pace. I got an excuse so I could shorten my run tonight. Unluckily for the short run, I could still got sweat and workout so that I could eat pleasantly in the dinner time.
