Let’s “Move, Learn and Discover”! 2013 Olympic Day cum Olympic Day Run at Disneyland Land

Today is the worldwide Olympics Day. Every year Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Assoication organizes a short fun run to encourage Hong Kong people to join the sports. This year it is scheduled to be held on 23 June 2013 (Sunday) at 7:45 a.m. in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

It is a sports carnival by combining the elements of a fun run, display booths, games session, lucky draw and various cultural performances to encourage people from the community to implement the theme “Move, Learn and Discover”.

The most attractive part is participants of the Olympic Day games session will have opportunity to win the new GALAXY S4 sponsored by Samsung, in addition to the prizes of the Lucky Draw, including Panasonic products and Hong Kong Disneyland 1-Day tickets~wow! Therefore, you may see many novices come to enjoy the fun run.

Siulek joins the race just because my company is one of the co-organizers and sponsors.
Moreover, it is near the Lantau country park so Siulek can have additional trail training after the run.
Our running team has formed 2 teams to run today. Martin, Fai and me were wearing our team uniform in sharp colour which is full of power!

The team members also took a lot of photos with our newly designed banner.
As the sponsored teams, we were able to start at the starting arch. Before the start, Mickey and Minnie went out to cheer runners up and took photos with the honorable guests.
As the race is just a fun run without any official record, I chose  to enjoy the sunny race with a comfortable pace and my camera.

We were entering the amusing park and lake.

Then we ran along the beautiful seaside. It was so amazing that the weather was so good after the typhoon one day before.
The route for 2013 ODR is around 5.6 km long. Participants will start the route from Disneyland Coach Park, running along Park Promenade, Waterfront Promenade, then turn at Sea Point Road towards Magic Road and finish at Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre. The route is suitable for individuals of all ages; you will experience the fun of jogging, at the same time, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Disneyland Resort area along this route.

Before joining back to the park, we ran around the road around Disleyland.
I was the overall champion 2 years ago. After I knew there is no prize nor ranking for this race, I tend to enjoy the joy of running by accompanying my friends. It took me less than half hour to complete this route. Easy job for me!

In addition , it was so happy to met an old friend who was working as a volunteer in the race.
The other friends were on the route or working at the marshal under the hot weather. Salute for them!

After the run, teammates were gathered again to take the team photos. All still looked good!

Since I would joined other runners to met at Tung Chung for trail running afterwards, I missed the chance of winning in the lucky draw.
